Stella Shops Get to Know Us:

We recently had the pleasure of being acquainted with the girls at Stella Shops when they collaborated with the Lookbook to feature one of our Bullet Necklaces on a Fashion Friday: How to Wear It.  We have to say, we are quite impressed with the Stella girls.  Their fashion blog spotlights trends, favorite products, DIY projects, and also monthly reviews on locally-owned boutiques.  This blog is more than worth checking out.... we guarantee you'll become a regular.

So, apparently they were quite taken with the L&F girls (wink) as they decided to get to know us a little better.

They asked us about our style, inspirations, Holiday memories, what we couldn't live without, fav music, and more.  Check out the full interview - here.

In The Workshop:

Here is a behind the scene's look at how it all goes down at our Love and Flak workshop.  From drilling, to polyurethane dipping, to our rad workshop digs, and a sneak peak and some of our new pieces (Before the glitz and glamour set it).
We might be girls who would rather play inside than out, but we can get down with the power tools; as long as they are paired with s'bux, a leopard print rug, and proper vintage decor.

We Adore John Keats:

Love is my religion - I could die for that

The art of a handwritten letter is fading quickly. No one sends them. No one receives them. In fact, writing a letter may seem like an ancient ritual that is practiced only by those of earlier generations. John Keats, renowned poet of the English Romantic Movement, penned some of the most famous love letters ever written. In 1818, he met and fell instantly in love with Fanny Brawne, literally the girl next door. The couple became secretly engaged soon after. However, the story of John Keats and Fanny Brawne is one of literary tragedy. In the winter of 1820 Keats became very ill, so their marriage became an impossibility. This letter displays Keats' intense and unwavering love for her.

13 October 1819
My dearest Girl,
This moment I have set myself to copy some verses out fair.  I cannot proceed with any degree of content.  I must write you a line or two and see if that will assist in dismissing you from my Mind for ever so short a time.  Upon my Soul I can think of nothing else - The time is passed when I had power to advise and warn you against the unpromising morning of my Life - My love has made me selfish.  I cannot exist without you - I am forgetful of every thing but seeing you again - my Life seems to stop there - I see no further.  You have absorb'd me. I have a sensation at the present moment as though I was dissolving - I should be exquisitely miserable without the hope of soon seeing you.  I should be afraid to separate myself far from you.  My sweet Fanny, will your heart never change?  My love, will it?  I have no limit now to my love - You note came in just here - I cannot be happier away from you - 'T is richer than an Argosy of Pearles.  Do not threat me even in jest. I have been astonished that Men could die Martyrs for religion - I have shudder'd at it - I shudder no more - I could be martyr'd for my Religion - Love is my religion - I could die for that - I could die for you.  My Creed is Love and you are its only tenet - You have ravish'd me away by a Power I cannot resist: and yet I could resist till I saw you; and even since I have seen you I have endeavoured often "to reason against the reasons of my Love."  I can do that no more - the pain would be too great - My Love is selfish - I cannot breathe without you.
Yours for ever,
John Keats

Makes you wonder if people have emotions or feelings this deep anymore, does it not?
So, let's get on top of things here peeps...

L+F Muse • Zadig et Voltaire:

Any chick who can rock out and shoot a machine gun at Jack White the way Alison Mosshart does is def on our "to be friends with" list.  When we saw she had a clothing line with her other ( & equally as dope) half in The Kills -Jamie Hince - we may have freaked a little.  Here's how they describe Zadig et Voltaire, "We are Rock, Cold Wave, The Military Strategy, Black Leather Winter, Destroyed but Precious, Signs of the Time, Natural, Grunge, Men."

FAVS:

Sidenote: We saw they have a sweet action Gun Necklace.  Know what would layer perfectly with that? A WWII Love and Flak Bullet Necklace.  Yes?

Last thing.  If you know what's good for you, check out 1. The Kills & 2. The Dead Weather

Kiss Em Goodbye:

good•bye - adieu, au revoir, ciao, adios, so long, sayonara, bon voyage, farewell.

We had to say all these things to many of our beloved pieces in October.  For months now we've been able to play dress up with all of our amaze pieces, and I'm here to say.... play time is over.
It's your turn.  We say goodbye, you say hello.

Love and Flak:
